The 12th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival – Images of the 21stt Century, will be traveling all over Greece this year, with the cooperation of local authorities and the support of local cultural organizations and universities.
The department of Regional Events will be working together with the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival to bring recent Greek and foreign documentaries to film-lovers in major cities other than Thessaloniki.
Regional Events is the channel that links the Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival and regional Greek cities. With an aim to disseminate new and older Greek and foreign documentaries, they bring the public in contact with interesting and original films. Each year, more and more people respond to our initiative and more and more film professionals visit these cities and talk with audiences about their films and the art of filmmaking.
Each year we aspire to add more cities to the list, in order to give the opportunity to an increasing number of filmgoers to get a taste of the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival This year’s Regional Events will be taking place in the following cities: Alexandroupolis, Veria, Volos, Drama, Kavala, Kastoria, Florina, Kerkyra, Heraklion, Kozani, Kilkis, Grevena, Patras, Edessa, Ioannina, Rethymnon and Chania. This year’s schedule also includes screenings at the Diavata and the Volos correctional facilities.
