As a complement to the 11th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival’s tribute to Africa as in through the eyes of African filmmakers – a first for Greece aswell as the greater Balkan region – a panel discussion will be held on the contemporary reality of the African continent. Both the tribute and the panel discussion are a continuation of the 8th Festival’s central segment entitled “Africa: Unresolved Issues”, which discussed HIV/AIDS and poverty, globalization, exploitation and corruption. This year’s panel discussion will feature distinguished experts and speakers who will analyze equally burning issues vis-àvis the developing African countries, examine them within an international context, raise questions and suggest solutions.
