Documentary Educational Program
Stavros Tornes (Warehouse 1, Port), Wednesday 12 and Thursday 13 March, 09:00-11:00 and 11:00-13:00

The 10th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival – Images of the 21st Century, in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut Thessaloniki, will be introducing a separate Documentary Educational Program, entitled Young Heroes. The documentaries comprising the program will screen at the Festival venues but also at the meeting hall of the Goethe-Institut Thessaloniki from Tuesday 11 to Friday 14 March. Admission to the screenings will be free.

These are 15 short documentary films which have been made especially for children and teens. The films come from France, Denmark, Germany, Poland, The Netherlands and other European countries, and focus on matters of our everyday and personal life, such as friendship, love and family.

The documentary educational program of the 10th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival – Images of the 21st Century aspires to cultivate an interest in the documentary in school children and familiarize them with this particular narrative genre. It follows the Thessaloniki International Film Festival’s especially successful pilot educational program “MiniDOC: a film portrait”, organized in conjunction with the Cultural Organization of the Prefecture of Chalkidiki.

The documentaries that will screen as part of Educational Program of the 10th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival – Images of the 21st Century are the following:
